BYU-Pathway Worldwide makes a university degree possible for everyone. It provides access to certificates and degrees through our partners at BYU-Idaho and Ensign College, completely online, at an affordable price in more than 180 countries. And, with our certificate-first approach, students can get a better job before finishing their degree.

Who can benefit from BYU-Pathway?

BYU-Pathway Worldwide can be a wonderful opportunity for any student, but especially for those who lack academic confidence, don’t know what to do after high school or secondary school, or want the flexibility of an online education.

BYU-Pathway helps individuals who want or need more flexibility or who might not do well in a traditional campus experience.

No Diploma or GED
No high school/secondary school diploma or GED is needed for those 18 and older.

"I wasn’t able to finish high school due to being picked on and bullied because of my Tourette’s and Asperger’s syndrome. BYU-Pathway Worldwide was like a second chance at an education for me... I found myself looking forward to the gatherings each week because the fellowship with your fellow students and the spirit that follows you is worth it." Robert Whisenhunt | North Carolina, USA
Low or No Test Scores
No ACT/SAT scores required for those who start with the preferred path to a degree.
Lack Confidence
Pursuing higher education, especially for those who lack confidence in themselves and their abilities can be challenging. BYU-Pathway helps students gain confidence in a supportive environment at weekly gatherings.

"One by one, all my friends prepared to attend their dream schools, and I was increasingly afraid that I wouldn’t be able to do the same. I felt left behind and inadequate...BYU‑Pathway helped me win back the confidence I had lost and made me excited for future opportunities." Bri Merling | Georgia, USA
Need to Save Money
At BYU-Pathway, tuition is lower than nearly any other school starting at just $79 a credit in the United States.
  • This reduced tuition cost continues for a student's entire degree

“Being fresh out of high school and not having a lot of money, the affordable price of BYU-Pathway and the guaranteed lower tuition for my online courses appealed to me.” Gabby Marz | Utah, USA
Neurodivergent
BYU-Pathway helps neurodivergent students — those differing in mental or neurological function from what is considered typical — students succeed with support from service missionaries, mentors, classmates and more.

"I am under the autism spectrum. I was nervous about going to school.... BYU-Pathway has helped me develop life skills and strong relationships with my family and friends. The journey, however, took effort. It wasn’t easy, but it was worth it." Landon LeBaron | Utah, USA
Need a Better Job
More than 88% of our certificate earners continue education or improve employment.

"My certificates [computer programming] gave me the confidence to perform specific programing skills I needed in my work. Certificates also gave me important milestones to keep me motivated to continue my efforts to the next level. It still amazes me what you get back for the cost. You get so much. That makes me want to try harder." James Clarke | Utah, USA
Non-Native English Speakers
BYU-Pathway provides tools for improving English skills and professional communication.

Students must meet a minimum level of English proficiency. EnglishConnect is available to help those who need additional help to learn English.
Friends of the Church
Membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is not required. This educational opportunity is available to individuals of all faiths.
Those Who Can’t Travel To A Campus
BYU-Pathway can be an excellent resource for those who want to start or complete a degree, but can’t attend a university campus either because of distance, job, family responsibilities, cost, or more.
