Coordinate weekly student gatherings

Gathering Missionary

PathwayConnect
Facilitate weekly gatherings as part of PathwayConnect, a 21-week program that helps students start or return to college. This opportunity also includes raising awareness of BYU-Pathway's programs in local Church units.

EnglishConnect 3
Facilitate weekly gatherings as part of EnglishConnect 3, a 14-week program that helps individuals improve their English ability. This opportunity also includes raising awareness of EnglishConnect programs in local Church units.

Requirements & Qualifications
Service TypeSenior Service Missionary
Length of ServiceMinimum 12 months, 10 hours a week on average depending on the time of the year
DaysAvailability for one weekday evening for at least one hour is required.
Location
  • In-person gatherings (held in local buildings worldwide) 
  • Virtual gatherings (held by video conference worldwide) 
Qualifications
  • Member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 
  • Basic computer skills and access to computer 
  • Good communication skills 
  • Ability to learn video conferencing  
  • Stable internet connection 

English Chat

Change lives through word and deed

English Chat Volunteer

Help motivated students improve their English proficiency by having regular, 30-minute casual conversations with them. Consistent and immersive English practice will boost a student's confidence in speaking English and can led to improved employment opportunities.

Join the Career Advisory Board Student Experience Team and make a difference by mentoring students as they prepare to enter the workforce.

In this role, you will meet regularly with students, providing guidance on workplace expectations, professional development, and the skills needed to thrive in their careers.

Your mentorship will help students transition smoothly from education to employment, equipping them with the tools and confidence they need to succeed.
