3,144 Students to Complete Online Certificates and Degrees

At the conclusion of Fall Semester 2023 (Sept.–Dec.), 3,144 students are anticipated to have completed an online certificate or degree from BYU-Idaho or Ensign College, supported by BYU-Pathway Worldwide.

Among the students who completed online certificates and/or degrees are 2,731 PathwayConnect completers. Of all awarded students, 695 earned a bachelor’s degree, 649 earned an associate degree, and 2,725 completed a certificate. These students represent 97 countries and 45 U.S. states.

BYU-Idaho will hold commencement services for graduates on Thursday, December 14, at 12:45 p.m. (MST/UTC-7), in the BYU-Idaho Center as well as a livestream . Elder Carlos A. Godoy, General Authority Seventy, will be the guest speaker.

Ensign College graduates will be celebrated at the commencement services in April 2024.

Graduate Spotlight: Joseph Kemper

Joseph Kemper graduated from BYU-Idaho.

Utah-native Joseph Kemper discovered BYU-Pathway Worldwide in 2017 and just graduated with a bachelor’s degree in applied business management from BYU-Idaho!. After accidents, unemployment, and illness prevented him from pursuing his lifelong dream of receiving a degree, Joseph now understands that his challenges paved a sacred journey that taught him to trust in Jesus Christ.

He said, “My dream has only been made possible through BYU-Pathway, a program that I will fondly remember for the rest of my life. Seeing a goal I have been working towards for 35 years fulfilled is a miracle.”
