BYU-Pathway Worldwide monthly devotionals complement the student experience by fostering greater faith and discipleship in Jesus Christ. Devotionals launch on Fridays at 4:00 p.m. (UTC) / 10:00 a.m. (MT) and are available with translated voiceover and captions in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and French.
Devotional Speakers
The upcoming devotionals will feature the following speakers and General Authorities and Officers of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints:
- May 8: President Brian K. Ashton and Sister Melinda Ashton, BYU-Pathway Worldwide
- June 5: Elder Edward Dube, General Authority Seventy
- July 3: Andrés Romeu, vice president at JPMorgan Chase & Co, BYU-Pathway Worldwide alum
- July 31: Elder Quentin L. Cook, Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
Devotionals typically last 7–10 minutes and can be viewed any time after they go live on the BYU-Pathway Facebook page and later on the BYU-Pathway speeches page.
Students responsible for leading the lesson in their gathering that week will facilitate a discussion around topics shared in the devotional. All participants are invited to watch, share, and discuss these inspiring messages.
About the Speakers
President Brian K. and Sister Melinda Ashton
Brian K. Ashton is the president of BYU-Pathway Worldwide and previously served as vice president of field operations. Receiving his bachelor’s degree from BYU and MBA degree from Harvard University, President Ashton has started several companies. He served as the Second Counselor in the Sunday School General Presidency from 2015–2019.
Melinda Ashton graduated from BYU and later attended medical school in Chicago. She served in the Spain Malaga Mission. Melinda and Brian are the parents of seven children. Together, they presided over the Texas Houston South Mission from 2012–2015.
Elder Edward Dube
Elder Edward Dube was sustained as a General Authority Seventy in April 2013. He received a diploma in education from Zimbabwe D.E. College and later studied entrepreneurship at the University of South Africa. He worked for more than 15 years with the Church Educational System in Africa in various roles. Elder Dube and his wife, Naume Keresia Salizani, are the parents of four children.
Andrés Romeu
Andrés Romeu is the vice president of Retail Branch Technology Support and FinOps at JPMorgan Chase & Co. and former vice president of technology operations. Brother Romeu has held leadership roles at Corporate and Investment Bank, Hewlett-Packard, and Mecalux. Through BYU-Pathway Worldwide, he earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from BYU-Idaho and has created job opportunities for other students. Brother Romeu and his wife, Belen Lucero, are the parents of two children.
Elder Quentin L. Cook
Elder Quentin L. Cook was sustained as a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles in October 2007. He previously served in the Presidency of the Seventy. He earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Utah State University and a doctor of jurisprudence from Stanford University. He worked as a business lawyer and healthcare executive. Elder Cook and his wife, Mary Gaddie, are the parents of three children.
