Winter 2026 Devotional Speakers

BYU-Pathway Worldwide monthly devotionals complement the student experience by fostering greater faith and discipleship in Jesus Christ. Devotionals launch on Fridays at 10:00 a.m. (Mountain Time) and are available with translated voiceover and captions in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and French.

Devotional Speakers

The upcoming devotionals will feature the following speakers and General Authorities and Officers of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints:

  • January 9: President Brian K. Ashton and Sister Melinda Ashton, BYU-Pathway Worldwide
  • February 6: Elder Ronald M. Barcellos, General Authority Seventy
  • March 6: Rory Bigelow, Seminaries and Institutes of Religion Associate Administrator
  • April 3: Sister Tamara W. Runia, First Counselor in the Young Women General Presidency

Devotionals typically last 7–10 minutes and can be viewed on Fridays at 10:00 a.m. (MDT/UTC-6) on the BYU-Pathway Facebook page and later on the BYU-Pathway speeches page.

Students responsible for leading the lesson in their gathering that week will facilitate a discussion around topics shared in the devotional. All participants are invited to watch, share, and discuss these inspiring messages.

About the Speakers

President Brian K. and Sister Melinda Ashton

President and Sister Ashton

Brian K. Ashton is the president of BYU-Pathway Worldwide and previously served as vice president of field operations. Receiving his bachelor’s degree from BYU and MBA degree from Harvard University, President Ashton has started several companies. He served as the Second Counselor in the Sunday School General Presidency from 2015–2019.

Melinda Ashton graduated from BYU and later attended medical school in Chicago. She served in the Spain Malaga Mission. Melinda and Brian are the parents of seven children. Together, they presided over the Texas Houston South Mission from 2012–2015.

Elder Ronald M. Barcellos

Elder Ronald M. Barcellos

Elder Ronald M. Barcellos was sustained as a General Authority Seventy in April 2025. He studied business administration at São Marcos University in Brazil. He went on to work for several companies in sales and marketing roles and as an entrepreneur, co-founding several businesses, including GreenMile LLC, where he was chief executive officer. Elder Barcellos and his wife, Karin Spat Albino, are the parents of three children. Together, they presided over the Portugal Lisbon Mission from 2021–2024.

Rory C. Bigelow

Rory C. Bigelow

Rory C. Bigelow has worked for Seminaries and Institutes of Religion for over 25 years in various teaching and administrative assignments, including his current role as the associate administrator of instruction. He earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Utah and a master’s degree in educational leadership from BYU. He and his wife, Tamara Kershaw, are the parents of three children and presided together over the Brazil Recife Mission.

Sister Tamara W. Runia

Sister Tamara W. Runia

Sister Tamara W. Runia was sustained as First Counselor in the Young Women General Presidency in April 2023. She studied broadcast journalism at BYU and served her community for 20 years as a member of the Provo Food & Care Coalition and the Provo City Parks and Recreation boards. Sister Runia and her husband, R. Scott, are the parents of seven children. Together, they presided over the Australia Sydney Mission from 2018–2021.
