Celebrate the proclamation’s 30th anniversary with us by reading three truths that can help us share joy with our families and others.

We are all members of God’s family

Strive to love and serve others as Jesus Christ did.
The family proclamation teaches that we are all beloved spirit sons and daughters of heavenly parents. 2

Our worth is great in the sight of God. 3 Heavenly Father loves us, and He has commanded us to love one another. As we strive to love others, we will find joy and abide in the love of Jesus Christ. 4
How can we show love to all members of God’s family?
  • Make an effort to meet someone new in your community, class, or gathering group.
  • Serve someone with a simple and kind gesture.
  • Include your family, friends, classmates, and community in your prayers.

Covenants unite families for eternity

Malakai Koroilagilagi, a BYU-Pathway student from Suva, Fiji, finished his certificate in project management . He shared his testimony, “The covenants we make with God bind [our families] together with a strength that no trial, distance, or even death can sever.”When we make and keep sacred covenants, Elder John A. McCune taught, “we … can experience [Heavenly Father’s and Jesus Christ’s] love and joy in a measure reserved for those who have made and kept covenants.” 6

As we experience the joy that comes from keeping covenants, we can share those experiences with others.
How can we share the joy that comes from covenant keeping?
  • Be an example of covenant keeping.
  • Invite a friend or family member to attend the temple with you.
  • Hold a family history night at your ward or branch.
