Christmas is a season of joy, love, and gratitude. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, is our perfect example of faith and service. Remembering Him during this holiday season can help us feel hope through His light.

Focusing on Christ can help you feel hope.

President Brian K. Ashton shared, “Christmas for me is about what’s most important in life because it’s focused on the Savior and we get to spend time with family. I’m reminded that because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ I can be with my family forever.”

What a blessing it is to spend time with family during Christmas, while you achieve your educational, professional, and personal goals. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ know the hard work you are doing to better yourself and loved ones. They also personally and deeply know Their children who struggle this season because of loneliness, the loss of a loved one, hunger, mental health, or any number of challenges. Focusing on Christ can help begin to heal wounds and bring joy. His way is the path that leads to "peace in this world, and eternal life in the world to come." 1 The Living Christ: The Testimony of the Apostles states, “As we commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ two millennia ago, we offer our testimony of the reality of His matchless life and the infinite virtue of His great atoning sacrifice. None other has had so profound an influence upon all who have lived and will yet live upon the earth. … He is the light, the life, and the hope of the world.” 2

Christmas is a time when we can enjoy being together as a family and loved ones. It is a season to remember Christ: His birth, life, and atoning sacrifice so that we can return to our Father in Heaven with our families. Merry Christmas from BYU-Pathway Worldwide!
